Extended Service Plan FAQ

1. When does coverage begin on new Ford Protect Extended Service Plans?

When you purchase a Ford Protect Extended Service Plan, coverage begins from your vehicle’s original in-service date and mileage—the date and mileage when the vehicle was first sold as new by a dealer.

Coverage expires at the earlier of the total time purchased or the total mileage purchased.

Example:

Your vehicle’s warranty start date is July 1, 2022, with 10,000 miles on the odometer. You purchase a 5-Year / 100,000-Mile Premium Care plan on November 1, 2022. Your coverage begins on July 1, 2022, and expires on June 30, 2027, or when the odometer reaches 100,000 miles—whichever occurs first.

2. Are Ford Protect Extended Service Plans transferable to subsequent owners?

Yes, they are transferable. Transfer fees vary by state.
